I don't know about whether he's up to no good in Fringe, since I gave it up a while ago. But I know he was up to no good, but I still loved him, in the all too short-lived Black Donnellys.
NO WAY!! Charlie is the shit, dude. He is totally a white hat. A white hat with a random, unexplained promotion to being involved in the team's activities, versus just being Olivia's clueless FBI boss, but i honestly chalk that up to the clumsiness of the writers than to any sort of nefarious plottin'. (Mostly, i think they're just not up to nefarious plottin'. I mean, The Pattern? Weren't we supposed to care about that at some point? Now would be good.)
